Capitec’s chief executive officer, Gerrie Fourie, says the bank expects to fill 300 vacancies in the coming months.
Capitec is making place for more appointments at a time when many companies are laying off workers in the wake of the Covid-19 outbreak and persistently sluggish economic growth, he said.
Fourie stated that Capitec is rapidly expanding its workforce. Its easy, open, and economical banking system has received a resoundingly favorable reaction in South Africa.
Capitec currently have a client base of over 16.3 million people. It’s been really gratifying to see how they span a wide range of income levels, ages, and cultures.
According to Fourie, the bank’s digital product has enjoyed quick adoption, with over 8.8 million customers.
He claims that Capitec does not regard digitization as a threat to staff, but rather sees it as an opportunity to expand its specialised workforce while maintaining an emphasis on individual service in its branch network.
South Africa is a unique environment, and while our digital offering is rapidly expanding, Capitec acknowledges the importance of their approximately 840 branches.
Face-to-face engagement is still required or preferred by many South Africans. Capitec employs technology to automate routine operations in its locations, allowing our workers to concentrate on providing world-class individualized service.
Capitec is hiring for a variety of positions in the next months, from graduates to senior executives, including Developers, Analyst developers, Business analysts, Data engineers, Scientists, BI analysts among others.
The complete list of openings can be found here.
According to Fourie, the bank’s rapid growth provides considerable potential for Capitec workers.
More prospects arise as a result of the acquisition of Mercantile Bank.
Capitec recently acquired Mercantile Bank as part of a larger strategy to create a digitised business banking based on the very same principles that have made Capitec successful.
