Who would have thought that automobiles would come with built-in cookers, but the Audi A8 5.5, designed specifically for the Japanese market, now has an in-built rear console-mounted rice cooker in tribute to the Japanese rice-eating custom.
The rear console-mounted rice cooker in the Audi A8 5.5 is developed specifically for the full-size luxury vehicle and can cook the “best rice ever” because to the high heat convection within the Japanese rice cooking pot known as Hagama.
The Audi A8’s 5.5 designation is derived from a combination of the Japanese terms “go” for five and “han” for half, and the words gohan also mean rice in Japanese.
The A8 5.5 will be available only in Japan and will have an on-board touchscreen display panel that allows passengers to pick any cooking option and create the perfect rice inside their vehicle.
The owner’s heart will quickly be captured by the one and only excellent grade of soft rush grass (rice straw) chosen with care.
Audi’s unique design fosters a climate-appropriate environment.
The inside of the 2,990mm wheelbase is lined with tatami made of the finest rush, which is appropriate for the extreme heat and humidity of Japan.
