EasyScan is a new service from Standard Bank and Pick n Pay that allows PnP clients to pay for their purchases using the bank’s smartphone.
Customers can purchase things by scanning a QR code at cash registers. Purchasing is simple and quick, and users can keep a record of their purchases using the Mobile Banking app.
Anyone with a Standard Bank account can use it. Pick & Pay and Standard Bank recently announced a partnership to open Standard Bank in-store branches in various Pick n Pay locations.
The accessible Standard Bank in-store branches offer the strengths of physical and digital banking to provide customers with on-demand provision of financial services that suit within their everyday lives.
Pick & Pay’s Head of Omnichannel, John Bradshaw, said in a statement, “Our consumers adore convenience, and the EasyScan innovation is another way we’re enriching their shopping experience.”
“They don’t need to have their cash or credit cards on them, and they don’t even make contact during the purchase.”
The news follows the introduction of a partnership between Pick n Pay and Standard Bank, which will see the bank open in-store branches at chosen locations.
Account signups and other services are available at the branches. Customers can also access their statements, make payments, and sign up for the bank’s mobile services.
Users can also use Pick n Pay till points to deposit and withdraw cash, plus they are able to also redeem their Instant Money vouchers.
