Beneficiaries of South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) grants who are also collecting grants (in addition to the R350 SRD) should prepare to pick up their grants from the South African Post Office.
The R350 Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant is no longer given out by the South African Postal Service. The grant funds may be picked up at authorized retail locations or placed immediately into beneficiaries’ bank accounts, it has been advised.
The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) previously reportedly advised recipients of the R350 social relief of distress (SRD) award not to frequently update their bank information. The SASSA warns that frequent changes to bank information may cause payment delays.
Many candidates have recently expressed their feelings over having their grant applications rejected or receiving delayed payments on social media. One of the causes of the payment delays, according to SASSA, is the SRD website’s frequently changing bank data.
The organization added that the beneficiary will need to be confirmed each time bank information is changed, which will cause a delay.
SASSA Grants Dates for 2022/2023
Dates for all SASSA payments fall between March 2022 and March 2023.
The timetable specifies how frequently South African seniors, children, and individuals with disabilities will get their regular grant funds.
They have no impact on when the R350 SRD payments will be made.
According to SASSA, grants will be awarded on the second of every month. If certain days fall on a weekend, the cash will then be paid the following Monday.
